Trainee Carpet Fitter - West Midlands

Job description

The Trainee Carpet Fitter will play a key role in our business delivering a first class customer experience.

No previous experience is necessary as full training through our academy will be provided for many different floor coverings.   Our end goal to produce a fully competent and highly knowledgeable carpet fitter & floor layer.  You will work with our experienced fitters until full training has been completed. This is an excellent career for an individual with the right attitude and work ethic.

 What We’ll Need From You

  • A good understanding of English and Maths
  • Enthusiastic and a can-do approach
  • The ability to build relationships with customers and deliver an outstanding customer service experience
  • Good time keeping
  • A professional appearance
  • Full clean driving licence preferred but not essential

 

What You’ll Get In Return

  • 28 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays
  • A robust in depth training programme
  • Career progression to becoming a fully independent experienced carpet fitter

 

Job type:  Permanent full-time

Salary:  £356 - £400 during probation

Your Part In Our Journey


The Trainee Sales Manager will play a key role in our business delivering a first class customer experience and helping our customers select the right product.

 

You will become an expert in providing advice on all our products and fitting solutions whilst guiding our customers throughout the whole process.

 

As part of your initial training, you will be based at one of our training hubs which are located throughout Worcestershire and the West Midlands, so the ability to be able to commute is essential.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Responsible for advising on all our product ranges
  • Responsible for providing advice on fitting solutions
  • Providing a first-class customer experience
  • Working as part of a team to uphold the company values
  • Maintain Health & Safety Standards
  • Processing of sales estimates, orders and payments using the sales database
  • Housekeeping duties and maintaining a clutter free and tidy showroom
  • Answering the telephone, checking and replying to emails
  • Raising any discrepancies with suppliers and liaise with customers if necessary

  • We would love you to have a sales experience background
  • Experience in a customer facing position
  • Enthusiastic and a can-do approach
  • The ability to build relationships with customers
  • The ability to communicate and understand the needs of customers
  • Approachable, passionate and friendly
  • A flexible approach to working hours, ability to commute and work weekends

Hours:  40 hours per week – across 7 days per week

Monday to Friday 9 am to 5.30pm

Sunday (6 hours) times dependent on the retail park operating hours

We are seeking experienced full-time fitters to join our company on a permanent basis. Our work covers domestic (mainly carpet and laminate) installations around the Midlands.  As one of the leading flooring providers, we also provide flooring solutions to the UK House Builders and Housing Associations including Bovis Homes, Bellway and Barratt Homes

 

 What We’ll Need From You

  • Experience with domestic carpets, laminate and floor preparation
  • A good understanding of English and Maths
  • Enthusiastic and a can-do approach
  • The ability to build relationships with customers and deliver an outstanding customer service experience
  • Good time keeping
  • A professional appearance
  • Full UK clean driving licence

The Warehouse Administrator will play a key role in our business providing effective administration and office support to the management team.

The vacancy will be based in our Milton Keynes Warehouse located in Roebuck Way, Knowhill, Milton Keynes

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support the smooth running of the office by providing support on all administration functions
  • Responsible for the organisation of all paperwork, filing, scanning and photocopying
  • Ensure that all customers are valued, listened to, and understood
  • Answers phone calls, manages general enquiries and transfers them as necessary
  • Uploading and inputting data onto the IT system
  • Printing of all fitters paperwork
  • Booking in customer care jobs
  • Providing admin support on the processing of timesheets
  • Manages correspondence by answering emails and sorting mail
  • Ensures customer support requests are actioned & resolved quickly

 

 What We’ll Need From You

  • Experience in working in a warehouse office environment
  • Administration experience
  • Enthusiastic and a can-do approach
  • High proficiency with computer systems and applications
  • The ability to build relationships with customers
  • The ability to communicate and understand the needs of customers and colleagues
  • Approachable, passionate, and friendly
  • A flexible approach to working hours
